De Streekproducten Vlaams-Brabant vzw is a coordination, consultation and action platform of, for and by Flemish Brabant regional producers and managers of regional corners, B&Bs and catering businesses, municipal authorities and other partners. The aim is to promote, professionalize and market Flemish Brabant regional products. Regional products Vlaams-Brabant vzw makes this possible by:
• Setting up and professionalizing regional corners
• Stimulating the sale of regional products through project work
• Guiding, setting up and participating in (joint) promotional campaigns
• Supporting the logistics network through collaboration with JAVA
• Inventorying and updating the Flemish Brabant regional product database
• Developing the non-profit organization as a reference point
Regional products Vlaams-Brabant vzw guarantees the interests and rights of its members and wants to create opportunities for them. A good example of this is a collaboration with JAVA food service company. Thanks to this collaboration, the producer has the opportunity to expand his clientele and focus on production. JAVA takes care of the distribution of the regional products, so that the gap between wholesalers is narrowing and the producer no longer has to drive around to sell his products.
In addition, the non-profit organization carries out extensive promotions for its members and products under the slogan 'Strafe Streek'. The “Strafe Streek” concept was developed in 2008. This concept must continue to support the attention for Flemish Brabant regional products and also strengthen the regional identity. In 2012, a label for Flemish Brabant regional products was created to supplement the “Strafe Streek” concept. If the product shows a clear link with Flemish Brabant, it is made on site at the producer and it has been produced for at least 5 years, then it can claim the 'Erkend Flemish Brabant Regional Product' label.
